Buy Local & Support your Community!

We realize that it is not always possible to buy local products everytime but we are simply asking you to Think Local FIRST!

Top reasons to Think Local & Buy Local first!

Buy Local & Support your Community: Several studies have shown that when you buy from an independent, locally owned business, rather than from nationally owned businesses, more of your local dollars stay local, doing this strengthens the local economy.

  1. Support community groups: Non-profit organizations receive an average 250% more support from smaller business owners than than from larger companies.
  2. Keep our community unique: Where we shop, eat and have fun, makes our communities unique. Our one-of-a-kind businesses are an integral part of our distinctive character of each town. Our tourism businesses also benefit.
  3. Reduce environmental impact: Locally owned businesses can make more local purchases requiring less transportation costs. This generally means contributing less to sprawl, congestion, and pollution.
  4. Create more good jobs: Small local businesses are the largest employer nationally for our communities and they provide most jobs to the residents.
  5. Get better service: Local businesses often hire people with a better understanding of the products they carry. Also, the small businesses are more likely to get to know their customers on a personal level.
  6. Invest in community: Local businesses are owned by people who live in the community, and they are more invested in the community’s future wellbeing.
  7. Put your taxes to good use: Local businesses make more efficient use of public services and infrastructure when compared to nationally owned stores entering the community.
  8. Buy what you want, not what someone wants you to buy:  Small businesses customize in selling products based on quality and affordability not based on national sales by larger companies but based on their own interests and needs of their local customers and community, this guarantees a much broader range of better product choices.

Think local first.  Buy local when you can!
